Privacy Policy — Sugargoo Helper

Sugargoo Helper is a browser extension that helps you send Taobao, Weidian, 1688, and Tmall product links to Sugargoo, and shows basic product details pulled from the page you're already viewing.

What the extension does with your data

• Page content: On Taobao, Weidian, 1688, and Tmall product pages, the extension reads visible text already on the page (price, review counts, store ratings, shipping info) to display it in an on-page info panel. This happens entirely inside your browser — none of this content is sent anywhere or stored outside your device.
• Sugargoo links: When you click "Add to Sugargoo" (or the equivalent right-click / highlight-to-open actions), the extension opens a new browser tab to sugargoo.com with the current product's URL and the developer's Sugargoo affiliate ID attached. This only happens when you take that action — nothing is sent automatically or in the background.
• Currency conversion: If you choose a non-CNY currency in the product info panel, the extension sends that currency code to api.frankfurter.dev, a free public exchange-rate API, to fetch current rates. No product data, browsing history, or personal information is included in that request.
• Local preferences: The extension's on-page button position and your chosen display currency are saved using Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local). This data stays on your device and in your browser profile — it is never transmitted to the developer or any third party.

What the extension does NOT do

• It does not collect or transmit your browsing history.
• It does not collect passwords, payment details, or account credentials.
• It does not track you across sites or build any profile of you.
• It does not use analytics, ads, or third-party trackers.

Third parties involved

• sugargoo.com — receives the product URL and affiliate ID only when you click to open a product there. Governed by Sugargoo's own privacy policy.
• api.frankfurter.dev — receives only a currency code when you use the currency conversion feature. No personal or product data is sent.

Affiliate disclosure

This extension is built and maintained by an independent developer who participates in Sugargoo's affiliate program. Links opened through this extension include the developer's affiliate code, which may earn them a commission on resulting purchases, at no extra cost to you.
